working on

Current Phase

Tested early assumptions around PLA-compatible color masterbatch and how to build consistent color formulas.

October 2026

Factory Launch Timeline Approved

The revised Yupe3D factory and Kickstarter timeline was approved. Manufacturing, Kickstarter, factory preparation, equipment installation, and production planning are now being coordinated under the updated schedule.

May–June 2026

Business Planning & Product Development

Finalized the Yupe3D PLA+ refill concept. Developed the reusable spool and refill ecosystem. Continued packaging, branding, product, and manufacturing planning. Began building the long-term Guatemala manufacturing strategy.

June 15, 2026

Beta Spools

Purchase 100 rolls manufactured with the extruded Machine.

April 13, 2026

Future Volume Resin Quote Requests

Prepared formal quote outreach for multi-ton PLA purchasing, including questions around shipping, lead time, and future larger recurring orders once Yupe3D begins operating.

April 8, 2026

Kickstarter and Funding Strategy

Built funding models around Kickstarter-style launches, tier structures, million-dollar scenarios, and how preorder capital could support machine purchases and factory startup.

April 7, 2026

3kg Spool Prototype Progress

Advanced hardware ideas for a larger spool system, including brake functionality using brass inserts and M3 hardware, while also reviewing pricing and positioning.

April 5, 2026

Factory Layout Concepts

Started translating bodega dimensions and equipment assumptions into a practical production layout that could support extrusion, drying, QC, packaging, and office functions.

April 5, 2026

Investor Materials and Roadmap Work

Began turning the Yupe3D plan into investor-facing visuals, including a business timeline, financial logic, and factory-layout style presentation material.

April 1, 2026

Initial Test-Run Strategy

Estimated how much raw PLA and color concentrate would be needed for trial runs to check color consistency, extrusion stability, and diameter control before production scale-up.

March 31, 2026

Packaging and Freight Math

Modeled pallet loading, box dimensions, packing flow, and packaging cost assumptions to understand the economics of moving finished product efficiently.

March 31, 2026

Operations and Staffing Model

Compared 12-hour shift structures, labor requirements, overtime implications, and operator coverage needed to run one or two filament lines efficiently.

March 30, 2026

Bodega and Factory Startup Planning

Explored warehouse rental cost, equipment placement, office and QC area needs, and how a first production site in Escuintla could be organized for launch.

March 30, 2026

Machine Quote and Setup Review

Worked through extrusion machine quotes, startup training questions, and the rough cost of launching with one or more lines for initial Yupe3D production.

March 29, 2026

Production Yield and Cost Modeling

Calculated how much finished filament could be made from different raw material and masterbatch quantities, helping estimate cost per kilogram and cost per finished spool.

March 29, 2026

Import and Logistics Planning

Studied shipping routes and sourcing structure for importing raw materials and machines into Guatemala while planning future finished-goods flow toward Houston warehousing.

March 28, 2026

Supplier Quote Outreach Began

Started contacting suppliers for raw PLA, masterbatch, vacuum bags, and packaging materials, with a sample-first strategy before committing to wholesale production orders.

March 28, 2026

Formula Direction for Basic PLA, PLA+, and Pro

Mapped out how Yupe3D could create multiple product tiers by combining base PLA with color masterbatch, modifiers, and process aids instead of relying on one resin grade alone.

March 28, 2026

Pricing Research

Built early pricing assumptions around key resin grades, including lower-cost alternatives, to estimate margin potential by spool.

March 25, 2026

Raw PLA Resin Comparison

Compared PLA resin options to understand which materials make the most sense for standard PLA, PLA+, and stronger performance-focused products.

March 23, 2026

Masterbatch Compatibility Review

Confirmed that the color Masterbatch being considered used a PLA carrier and started narrowing down how colorant could fit into Yupe3D’s filament formulas.
